Hugging diverse terrain borne of an ancient lava flow from distant Rincón de la Vieja, 6,788 yards wind their way through 125 acres of undulating fairways and greens. A variety of shots challenge players of all skill levels. Dramatic elevation changes stir the senses. Variegated terrain, ranging from forest to valley to seacliffs, ensures every fairway provides a major photo opportunity and every hole calls for a unique approach.






Though the course was envisioned to challenge yet not overwhelm, the scenery doesn’t adhere to these principles. Fourteen oceanview holes could very well spoil one’s concentration. A family of playful white-faced monkeys is always a welcome distraction.
