La Fortuna, COSTA RICA (July 2008) – Known for its lush rainforest setting, volcano-heated thermal springs, and innovative open-air dining, Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort in northern Costa Rica has garnered first place among luxury resorts in the category of “property with Best Water Feature” in the International Restaurant & Hotel Awards (IHRA). Tabacón Grand Spa Thermal Resort bested One & Only Ocean Club in Nassau, Bahamas, and The Biltmore Hotel, Coral Gables, Florida, to take first place in the category which acknowledges extraordinary water features (mineral springs, pool, beach or Jacuzzi) at a resort. In total, there are 11 categories at the luxury level, including Best Lobby, Best Suite and Best Design.

Tabacón is located at the foot of the Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna de San Carlos.
